Subject: Eliminating Veterans' Disability Payments from Income Eligibility for PTRR
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that would eliminate veterans' disability payments from income eligibility under the Property Tax Rent Rebate Program (PTRR). Currently, disability payments that a veteran receives from the Veterans Administration (VA) are included as income to determine eligibility for PTRR. For some veterans, the inclusion of these payments as income disqualifies them from eligibility for property tax relief. My legislation eliminates only veterans' disability payments from PTRR income eligibility and provides additional relief to individuals with a disability that is directly connected to their honorable and meritorious service to their country.
