MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 16, 2014 04:32 PM
From: Representative Brad Roae
To: All House members
Subject: Prohibiting Indicted House Members from Chairing Caucuses

In the near future, I will introduce legislation that would prohibit a Member who has been indicted from chairing a PA Legislative Caucus such as the Pro Life Caucus, Sportsmen's Caucus, PA Legislative Black Caucus, Coal Caucus or any other Caucus.

Currently, if a Member is indicted, they may not serve in a House Leadership position such as Majority Leader or Secretary and they cannot serve as a Chair of a House Committee. My proposed legislation would add the prohibition of chairing House Caucuses to the list.

This legislation will also be drafted as a Resolution to amend our House Rules to do the same thing, but by rules rather than law.

I would greatly appreciate your support of this legislation. Thank you for your consideration.
