From: Representative John D. Payne
To: All House members
Subject: Cosponosorship of Resolution - 2014 Emergency Medical Services for Children Day

I plan to introduce a resolution that would designate May 21, 2014, as Emergency Medical Services for Children Day in Pennsylvania.

Emergency Medical Services for Children supports EMS, the community-based public service who presence is vital to children in need, whose needs are different that the needs of adults in medical emergencies. Emergency Medical Services for Children assists in the implementation of training for use of advanced technical equipment and services in preparation to save the life of a child. They also work with emergency physicians, emergency nurses, social workers, psychologists, rescue personnel, EMTs, paramedics, prehospital nurses, air medical personnel, emergency medical responders, emergency vehicle operators, firefighters, police officers, educators, dispatchers, administrators and others to identify and address the issues surrounding the provision of optimal pediatric care.

Please join me in recognizing and honoring Emergency Medical Services for Children.
