Subject: | Ataxia Awareness Day in Pennsylvania |
In the near future, I will introduce a House Resolution recognizing Wednesday, September 25, 2013 as “Ataxia Awareness Day” in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Ataxia is a degenerative neurological disorder that causes slow, progressive deterioration of nerve cells in the spinal cord and cerebellum. This has an effect on an individual’s balance, coordination and speech. There are an estimated 150,000 individuals throughout the nation affected by this disorder. I am hoping that by introducing this resolution it will raise more awareness across the state about this devastating, and often fatal, neurological disorder. Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution. Thank you for your interest and support. |
