A RESOLUTION
Paying special tribute to all the men and women who lost their
lives on September 11, 2001, on this 20th anniversary of the
attacks, and offering deepest condolences to the families of
first responders who lost their lives on that day with a vow
to never forget their sacrifices.
WHEREAS, On September 11, 2001, the United States endured a
violent terrorist attack, leading to the tragic deaths and
injuries of thousands of innocent people, becoming the most
devastating attack on American soil in our history; and
WHEREAS, Twenty years later, the country continues to, and
shall forever, mourn their tragic loss and honor the memories
and the sacrifices made by first responders who paid with their
lives; and
WHEREAS, Many first responders, rescue and recovery workers,
volunteers and survivors of the attacks continue to suffer from

serious medical illnesses and emotional distress related to the
physical and mental trauma of the tragedy; and
WHEREAS, The Commonwealth and its people will never forget
the heroic first responders who, without hesitation, put their
lives in danger, running into burning buildings while others ran
out, and the 44 brave citizens aboard flight 93 who likely saved
the lives of hundreds of Americans and the destruction of the
United States Capitol with their heroic act in overtaking the
terrorists flying the plane; and
WHEREAS, On the 20th anniversary of this tragic day, the
thoughts of the people of this Commonwealth and the United
States are with the victims of the events of September 11, 2001,
and their families; and
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives should recognize
September 11 as a day of solemn commemoration and extend, again,
its deepest sympathies to the thousands of innocent victims of
the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and to their families,
friends and loved ones; and
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives should reaffirm that
the people of this Commonwealth will never forget the challenges
our country endured on and since September 11, 2001, and will
work tirelessly to preserve our freedom and to defeat those who
attacked the United States; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives pay special
tribute to all the men and women who lost their lives on
September 11, 2001, on this 20th anniversary of the attacks, and
offer its deepest condolences to the families of first
responders who lost their lives on that day with a vow to never
forget their sacrifices.
