AN ACT
Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in traffic-control devices, further providing for
traffic-control signals.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 3112(a)(3) of Title 75 of the
Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a
subparagraph to read:
ยง 3112. Traffic-control signals.
(a) General rule.--Whenever traffic is controlled by
traffic-control signals exhibiting different colored lights, or
colored lighted arrows, successively one at a time or in
combination, only the colors green, red and yellow shall be
used, except for special pedestrian signals carrying a word
legend, and the lights shall indicate and apply to drivers of
vehicles and pedestrians as follows:

(3) Steady red indication.--

(ii.1) Turning at a steady red signal under
subparagraph (ii) is prohibited at intersections within
or adjacent to a school zone during the school zone hours
of operation. The department shall post signage to
indicate the prohibition of turns under this subparagraph
at all traffic-control signals within and adjacent to
school zones.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
