AN ACT
Designating the interchange of Pennsylvania Route 119 with
Pennsylvania Route 40, also known as West Main Street, in
South Union Township, Fayette County, as the Representative
Larry Roberts Interchange.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Representative Larry Roberts Interchange.
(a) Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as
follows:
(1) Representative Larry Roberts was first elected to
the Pennsylvania General Assembly in 1991 to serve the 51st
district.
(2) Representative Roberts served on the Transportation
Committee and Economic Development Committee of the House of
Representatives for 14 years.
(3) Representative Roberts achieved many legislative
accomplishments, including passing Bill's Law, protecting
Connellsville's Anchor Hocking Glass Company, the completion
of Pennsylvania Route 43 and the creation of regional

economic development districts.
(4) While in office, Representative Roberts held regular
town hall meetings across the 51st district and promised to
be accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to all
constituents.
(5) Representative Roberts retired from the General
Assembly in 2006.
(6) Before his time in the General Assembly,
Representative Roberts served for 22 and one-half years in
the United States Air Force.
(7) During his military service, Representative Roberts
earned the Expeditionary Award, Outstanding Unit Award, three
Good Conduct Medals, the Marksmanship Medal, NATO Service
Medal and the Longevity Medal.
(b) Designation.--The interchange of Pennsylvania Route 119
with Pennsylvania Route 40, also known as West Main Street, in
South Union Township, Fayette County, is designated the
Representative Larry Roberts Interchange.
(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the
interchange to traffic in both directions on the interchange.
Section 2. Effective date.
This act shall take effect in 60 days.
