A RESOLUTION
Designating the week of April 1 through 5, 2019, as "Graduate
and Professional Student Appreciation Week" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, "Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation
Week" is designed to raise awareness of the role of graduate and
professional students within this nation's colleges and
universities; and
WHEREAS, Education is vital to the growth and success of
students, and our universities recognize the strength and
contributions of a diverse student body and encourage learners
of all backgrounds to pursue graduate education; and
WHEREAS, Graduate and professional students are the future
teaching professionals, researchers and leaders of this
Commonwealth, nation and world; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania's economy is strengthened by the
presence of graduate and professional students; and

WHEREAS, There are more than 135,000 graduate and
professional students enrolled in the universities of this
Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, During "Graduate and Professional Student
Appreciation Week," universities in this Commonwealth will
celebrate the achievements of these students with appropriate
celebration and activities; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
week of April 1 through 5, 2019, as "Graduate and Professional
Student Appreciation Week" in Pennsylvania.
