A RESOLUTION
Recognizing September 25, 2018, as the "Day of Remembrance for
Murder Victims" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Between the years of 2012 and 2016, more than 3,200
Pennsylvanians were heinously murdered; and
WHEREAS, Prior to their untimely deaths, many of these
victims lived vibrant, unique lives; and
WHEREAS, In 2007, the Congress of the United States
designated September 25 as the "National Day of Remembrance for
Murder Victims"; and
WHEREAS, This day of remembrance was championed by the
parents of Lisa Hullinger, a student who was murdered on
September 25, 1978, at 19 years of age; and
WHEREAS, Murders impact victims, families, friends and the
broader community; and
WHEREAS, This day of remembrance serves as a day of healing
and reflection for those impacted by a murder; therefore be it
