A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the Loyalsock Creek, flowing from the Endless
Mountain region of Pennsylvania in Sullivan and Bradford
Counties through Lycoming County to the West Branch of the
Susquehanna River, as the "2018 River of the Year."
WHEREAS, Since 1983, the Department of Conservation and
Natural Resources and the Pennsylvania Organization for
Watersheds and Rivers recognizes one body of water in this
Commonwealth as the River of the Year; and
WHEREAS, This annual honor highlights the numerous rivers and
streams in this Commonwealth, and recognizes the many dedicated
individuals who fight to protect them; and
WHEREAS, Nominations are based on the needs and successes of
state waterways, as well as celebration plans should the nominee
be voted River of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Home to legions of paddlers, anglers and other
outdoors enthusiasts in northcentral Pennsylvania, Loyalsock
Creek was voted the "2018 River of the Year"; and
WHEREAS, The Loyalsock Creek is a 64-mile-long picturesque
