A RESOLUTION
Designating October 3, 2017, as "Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine Day" in Pennsylvania to honor the more than 700
licensed acupuncturists in this Commonwealth.
WHEREAS, Acupuncture and oriental medicine have a long, rich
history as components of a comprehensive traditional medical
system, having been used for thousands of years to diagnose and
treat illness, prevent disease and improve well-being; and
WHEREAS, Practitioners of acupuncture and oriental medicine
are dedicated to the highest professional standards; and
WHEREAS, Practitioners maintain these standards through
education, credentialing and personal commitment; and
WHEREAS, Millions of Americans obtain the services of
acupuncturists and oriental medicine practitioners each year;
and
WHEREAS, It is vital that individuals seeking wellness or
needing medical services understand the full realm of available
options for competent, professional integrated health

care; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate October
3, 2017, as "Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day" in
Pennsylvania to honor the more than 700 licensed acupuncturists
in this Commonwealth.
