A RESOLUTION
Designating the week of October 15 through 21, 2017, as "Love
Your Avenue Week" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania Downtown Center is dedicated to
developing and revitalizing communities of all sizes in this
Commonwealth to showcase their diverse collective resources,
natural assets, local interests and cultural institutions; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania Downtown Center, a nonprofit
organization, provides outreach and technical assistance to
neighborhoods and communities in association with the Department
of Community and Economic Development; and
WHEREAS, Commercial corridors, main streets and downtowns
reflect community pride and sustainability, spur investment and
employment, support nonprofit and philanthropic entities and can
accelerate regional cooperation; and
WHEREAS, Communities throughout this Commonwealth may host
commercial corridor cleanup events, street festivals and

sidewalk sales to mark "Love Your Avenue Week"; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
week of October 15 through 21, 2017, as "Love Your Avenue Week"
in Pennsylvania.
