A RESOLUTION
Designating the week of October 22 through 28, 2017, as
"Respiratory Care Week" in Pennsylvania and commending
respiratory therapists for their outstanding contributions to
health care.
WHEREAS, "National Respiratory Care Week" is being observed
October 22 through 28, 2017, nationwide; and
WHEREAS, This observance celebrates the contribution that
respiratory therapists make to our nation's health care system;
and
WHEREAS, Respiratory therapists are the only allied health
practitioners specifically trained to assist physicians in the
care of respiratory patients; and
WHEREAS, Across Pennsylvania, respiratory therapists assist
with diagnostic procedures, administer oxygen and breathing
treatments, conduct pulmonary therapy, teach home care to
patients and family members and provide acute care for patients

on ventilators; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
week of October 22 through 28, 2017, as "Respiratory Care Week"
in Pennsylvania; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives commend all
respiratory therapists for their outstanding contributions to
health care.
