A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the month of July 2017 as "Lake Awareness Month" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania's landscape is home to more than 1,500
lakes, ponds and reservoirs, which are critical resources to
Pennsylvania's environment and quality of life; and
WHEREAS, Lakes are one of Pennsylvania's most valuable
natural resources, supplying water for municipal, industrial and
agricultural use, assisting with flood control and providing
scenic beauty and a habitat for wildlife; and
WHEREAS, Lakes offer a variety of recreational opportunities,
including boating, swimming and fishing; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Lake Management Society is a great
resource for ways each resident can contribute in a positive way
to the health of this Commonwealth's waters; and
WHEREAS, The Commonwealth recognizes the need to protect
lakes and ponds for future generations; therefore be it
