A RESOLUTION
Designating April 24, 2017, as "Motorsports Day" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania provides great family-oriented venues
across the State for a wide variety of motorsports racing of all
types; and
WHEREAS, This Commonwealth has benefited economically from
the longtime investment of a wide range of businesses that are
involved in the production and engineering of the various
vehicles used in racing today; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania is one of two states having the most
National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) fans;
and
WHEREAS, There are approximately 20 chapters of the Official
NASCAR Members Club located in this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania ranks among the top five states in the
country in terms of racetracks; and

WHEREAS, Pennsylvania is home to Pocono Raceway, the host of
one INDYCAR event and two Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series
events; and
WHEREAS, Numerous smaller tracks located throughout this
Commonwealth contribute to motorsports and hold events for all
types of motorsports; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate April
24, 2017, as "Motorsports Day" in Pennsylvania.
