A RESOLUTION
Recognizing April 10, 2017, as "National Youth HIV & AIDS
Awareness Day" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, The National HIV/AIDS Strategy for the United
States: Updated to 2020, released in July 2015, reflects recent
scientific developments and calls for collective action to
reduce new HIV infections, increase access to care, improve
health outcomes, address related health disparities and attain a
more coordinated national response; and
WHEREAS, The national strategy further prioritizes the
reduction of HIV infection among youths; and
WHEREAS, The particular burden and impact of HIV/AIDS among
young people is a focus of "National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness
Day," an annual observance sponsored by the nonprofit
organization Advocates for Youth; and
WHEREAS, Many young people now living with HIV were born with
the virus; and
