A RESOLUTION
Congratulating the Turning for Home program established by the
Pennsylvania Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association at
Philadelphia Park.
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association
at Philadelphia Park in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, is being
recognized for the success of its Turning for Home program and
celebrating the placement of more than 2,000 horses into
adoptive homes; and
WHEREAS, Established in May 2008, Turning for Home, Inc., is
a nonprofit organization and a model program for other
racetracks around this nation; and
WHEREAS, Since the inception of the program at Philadelphia
Park Racetrack, its mission has been to help trainers and owners
who are based at Philadelphia Park to place their thoroughbred
racehorses in safe, approved adoptive homes or retirement
organizations; and
WHEREAS, Turning for Home, Inc., has developed a strong
reputation for the highest quality of service by steady

adherence to the principles of fairness, reliability and
integrity, and has become a leader in the community of
thoroughbred racing and a model that is worthy of emulation; and
WHEREAS, Through Turning for Home, Inc., retired
thoroughbreds can go on to new lives after racing, helping
at-risk youths and assisting men and women as they return from
military duty through equine-assisted psychotherapy; therefore
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives congratulate the
Turning for Home program established by the Pennsylvania
Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association at Philadelphia Park.
