A RESOLUTION
Designating the month of March 2017 as "Irish American Heritage
Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, On March 17, 2017, the Irish community in this
Commonwealth celebrates the occasion of the feast of the
glorious Apostle of Ireland, Saint Patrick; and
WHEREAS, The theme of the 2017 St. Patrick's Day Parade in
Philadelphia is "St. Patrick, Protect and Guide Our Police
Officers"; and
WHEREAS, Fleeing political, religious and racial persecution
in Ireland, Irish immigrants arrived on our shores penniless and
unwanted, yet filled with hope that the United States held a
future in which Irish immigrants and their families would enjoy
the bountiful fruits of a nation founded upon the principles of
liberty and justice for all; and
