AN ACT
Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, in firearms and other dangerous
articles, further providing for sale or transfer of firearms.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 6111 of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding subsections to read:
ยง 6111. Sale or transfer of firearms.

(c.1) Semiautomatic assault weapons.--
(1) No person shall sell or transfer a semiautomatic
assault weapon to an individual under 21 years of age.
(2) No person shall sell or transfer a semiautomatic
assault weapon to an individual 21 years of age or older
unless the individual has completed training on the proper
use and operation of a semiautomatic weapon. Proof of the
completed training shall be presented at the time of sale or
transfer.

(k) Definition.--As used in this section, the term
"semiautomatic assault weapon" shall mean:
(1) Any of the following firearms, or copies or
duplicates of the firearms in any caliber:
(i) All Norinco, Mitchell and Poly Technologies
Avtomat Kalashnikovs models.
(ii) Action Arms Israeli Military Industries UZI and
Galil.
(iii) Beretta AR70 (SC-70).
(iv) Colt AR-15.
(v) Fabrique Nationale FN/FAL, FN/LAR and FNC.
(vi) SWD M-10, M-II/9 and M-12.
(vii) Steyr AUG.
(viii) INTRATEC TEC-9, TEC-DC9 and TEC-22.
(ix) Revolving cylinder shotgun, including the
Street Sweeper and Striker 12.
(2) A semiautomatic rifle that has an ability to accept
a detachable magazine and has at least two of the following:
(i) A folding or telescoping stock.
(ii) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously
beneath the action of the weapon.
(iii) A bayonet mount.
(iv) A flash suppressor or threaded barrel designed
to accommodate a flash suppressor.
(v) A grenade launcher.
(3) A semiautomatic pistol that has an ability to accept
a detachable magazine and has at least two of the following:
(i) An ammunition magazine that attaches to the
pistol outside of the pistol grip.
(ii) A threaded barrel capable of accepting a barrel

extender, flash suppressor, forward handgrip or silencer.
(iii) A shroud that is attached to, or partially or
completely encircles, the barrel and that permits the
shooter to hold the firearm with the nontrigger hand
without being burned.
(iv) A manufactured weight of 50 ounces or more when
the pistol is unloaded.
(v) A semiautomatic version of an automatic firearm.
(4) A semiautomatic shotgun that has at least two of the
following:
(i) A folding or telescoping stock.
(ii) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously
beneath the action of the weapon.
(iii) A fixed magazine capacity in excess of five
rounds.
(iv) An ability to accept a detachable magazine.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
