AN ACT
Designating a bridge on that portion of U.S. Route 11 over the
Susquehanna River between the City of Pittston and West
Pittston Borough, Luzerne County, as the Specialist Dale J.
Kridlo Memorial Bridge.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Specialist Dale J. Kridlo Memorial Bridge.
(a) Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as
follows:
(1) On March 27, 1977, Specialist Dale J. Kridlo was
born to Albert Kridlo and Michelle Shymanski Dale in the City
of Scranton.
(2) Specialist Kridlo was a graduate of Pittston Area
High School and worked as a local painting contractor before
enlisting with the United States Army.
(3) After joining the United States Army, Specialist
Kridlo was assigned to the 27th Engineer Battalion, 20th
Engineer Brigade, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, North
Carolina.

(4) On November 7, 2010, at the age of 33, Specialist
Kridlo was killed in Kunar Province, Afghanistan, while
serving in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
(5) For his military service, Specialist Kridlo was
awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart.
(b) Designation.--The bridge located on that portion of U.S.
Route 11 over the Susquehanna River between the City of Pittston
and West Pittston Borough, Luzerne County, is hereby designated
as the Specialist Dale J. Kridlo Memorial Bridge.
(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge to
traffic in both directions on the bridge.
Section 2. Effective date.
This act shall take effect in 60 days.
