AN ACT
Amending Title 4 (Amusements) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in general provisions, further defining
"progressive system"; and, in Pennsylvania Gaming Control
Board, further providing for regulatory authority of board.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The definition of "progressive system" in section
1103 of Title 4 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is
amended to read:
§ 1103. Definitions.
The following words and phrases when used in this part shall
have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
context clearly indicates otherwise:

"Progressive system." A computerized system linking slot
machines in one or more licensed facilities within this
Commonwealth, or within this Commonwealth and another state, as
authorized under this title, and offering one or more common
progressive payouts based on the amounts wagered.

Section 2. Section 1207(6) of Title 4 is amended to read:
§ 1207. Regulatory authority of board.
The board shall have the power and its duties shall be to:

(6) Prescribe criteria and conditions for the operation
of slot machine progressive systems. A wide area progressive
slot system shall be collectively administered by
participating slot machine licensees in accordance with the
terms of a written agreement executed by each participating
slot machine licensee and approved by the board. The board
may enter into an interstate compact or reciprocal agreement
with another state for the conduct and administration of a
multistate progressive system. The board shall promulgate
regulations prescribing criteria and conditions for
interstate compacts and reciprocal agreements.

Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
