AN ACT
Designating a bridge on that portion of State Route 2014 over
Lycoming Creek, City of Williamsport, Lycoming County, as the
Alexander M. McFadden Memorial Bridge.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Alexander M. McFadden Memorial Bridge.
(a) Findings.--The General Assembly finds as follows:
(1) Upon Williamsport's incorporation as a city on
January 15, 1866, the city sought the appointment of a
regular police force.
(2) Alexander M. McFadden, a native of Loyalsock
Township, was named the first Chief of Police of the City of
Williamsport on July 2, 1866, and served until May 23, 1867.
(b) Designation.--The bridge located on State Route 2014
over Lycoming Creek, City of Williamsport, Lycoming County, is
hereby designated as the Alexander M. McFadden Memorial Bridge.
(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and

maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge to
traffic in both directions on the bridge.
Section 2. Effective date.
This act shall take effect in 60 days.
