A RESOLUTION
Designating the month of October 2015 as "Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder Awareness Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, More than six million people, or 11% of school-age
children and 4% of adults, in the United States have been
diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD);
and
WHEREAS, ADHD is one of the most common childhood disorders
and can continue through adolescence and adulthood; and
WHEREAS, ADHD is a nondiscriminatory disorder affecting
people of every age, gender, race, IQ, religion and
socioeconomic background; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate designate the month of October 2015
as "Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Awareness Month" in
Pennsylvania.
