A RESOLUTION
Designating the week of July 12 through 18, 2015, as "Pretrial,
Probation and Parole Supervision Week" in Pennsylvania and
commending community corrections professionals as a source of
positive change and improved public safety in this
Commonwealth.
WHEREAS, Community corrections is an essential element of our
justice system; and
WHEREAS, Community corrections professionals uphold our laws
with dignity; and
WHEREAS, These highly trained professionals recognize the
public's right to be safeguarded from criminal activity; and
WHEREAS, Community corrections professionals tirelessly
supervise juvenile and adult offenders, perform other supportive
services and make client referrals; and
WHEREAS, Working in partnership with community agencies and
organizations, they consistently promote crime prevention,
intervention and advocacy-related resources; and
WHEREAS, Community corrections professionals support and
protect crime victims while further advancing processes of

community justice and restorative justice; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate designate the week of July 12
through 18, 2015, as "Pretrial, Probation and Parole Supervision
Week" in Pennsylvania and commend community corrections
professionals as a source of positive change and improved public
safety in this Commonwealth.
