A RESOLUTION
Commending the Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program, an
Outreach and Online Education program of The Pennsylvania
State University, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.
WHEREAS, Assisting clients and partners since 1965, the
Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program (PennTAP) has earned
recognition for facilitating economic growth and development in
this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Established as one of our nation's first technical
assistance programs, PennTAP has integrated Federal, State and
university resources to successfully effect direct economic
assistance, energy analyses, product development, recovery
planning and job creation and retention for the benefit of its
clients and partners; and
WHEREAS, Through its Statewide network of technical
specialists, PennTAP has addressed and resolved specific
technical issues affecting businesses and organizations across
all 67 counties of this Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, Smaller firms lacking in-house expertise
particularly benefit from this partnership; and
WHEREAS, PennTAP has consistently identified experience-based
technical and work force solutions to build and sustain
innovation and competitiveness; and
WHEREAS, PennTAP has further managed and supported
collaborative grant projects; and
WHEREAS, PennTAP works with the Department of Community and
Economic Development, Penn State Cooperative Extension, Ben
Franklin Technology Partners, the University Economic
Development Association and other State agencies and leading
outreach organizations; and
WHEREAS, On June 2, 2015, PennTAP is marking its 50th
anniversary in the East Wing Rotunda of the Capitol Building in
Harrisburg; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate commend the Pennsylvania Technical
Assistance Program, an Outreach and Online Education program of
The Pennsylvania State University, on the occasion of its 50th
anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
PennTAP, 200 Innovation Boulevard, 119 Technology Center, State
College PA 16803-6602.
