A RESOLUTION
Designating the week of June 1 through 7, 2015, as "Motorsports
Appreciation Week" in Pennsylvania and recognizing the second
annual NASCAR Hauler Parade at the Capitol on June 4, 2015.
WHEREAS, There is a long history of motorsports in this
Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, The economy of this Commonwealth has benefited from
the investment in corporations that produce, engineer and
sponsor motorsports vehicles; and
WHEREAS, Long Pond is home to Pocono Raceway, the host of one
INDYCAR event and two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events annually;
and
WHEAREAS, It is fitting to recognize Pocono Raceway for its
many contributions to motorsports and the economy of this
Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Pocono Raceway is the proud sponsor of the second
annual NASCAR Hauler Parade at the Capitol on June 4, 2015;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate, in honoring the rich heritage of

motorsports in this Commonwealth, including the many
contributions of Pocono Raceway, NASCAR fans and other
stakeholders, designate the week of June 1 through 7, 2015, as
"Motorsports Appreciation Week" in Pennsylvania and recognize
the second annual NASCAR Hauler Parade being held at the Capitol
on June 4, 2015.
