A RESOLUTION
Recognizing April 14, 2015, as "Architects' Day" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, It is important to recognize "Architects' Day" to
remind the residents of this Commonwealth of the unique
contributions architects have made to the history, texture and
quality of life in Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, The American Institute of Architects Pennsylvania
(AIA PA), founded in 1909, is the Statewide component of the
American Institute of Architects (AIA); and
WHEREAS, The AIA PA has a Statewide membership of more than
2,700; and
WHEREAS, The beginning of an organized architectural
profession in this nation was signified by the founding of the
AIA 150 years ago; and
WHEREAS, Architects express the richness of our heritage and
the vitality of spirit through the vigilant stewardship of great
architectural and historical treasures; and

WHEREAS, Architects improve the quality of life for all
individuals in this Commonwealth by combining advances in
building technology with design innovation to build healthy,
safe, livable and sustainable buildings and communities; and
WHEREAS, The AIA PA and its members advocate good community
design and responsible stewardship of the built environment; and
WHEREAS, The AIA PA and its members maintain the highest
standards of professional qualifications, ethics and
advancements in training and education; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize April 14, 2015, as
"Architects' Day" in Pennsylvania.
