A RESOLUTION
Designating March 31, 2015, as "Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Day"
and congratulating Pennsylvania Farm Bureau members for their
significant contributions to our Commonwealth and its
agricultural industry.
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, formerly the
Pennsylvania Farmers' Association, was established on November
24, 1950, to give farmers and rural residents a strong voice in
State government; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau represents 59,782 farm
and rural families in this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau has 54 county farm
bureau organizations active in 65 counties throughout this
Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau has maintained its
integral role in developing and implementing legislation and
governmental programs having lasting and positive effects on the
economic welfare of agriculture and agribusiness in this
Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau has been and continues
to be a strong voice for agriculture at the Federal, State and
local levels; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and its affiliated
charitable organization, the Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture
Foundation, has been and continues to be effective at educating
residents of this Commonwealth about modern food and farming
practices; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate designate March 31, 2015, as
"Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Day" and congratulate Pennsylvania
Farm Bureau members for their significant contributions to our
Commonwealth and its agricultural industry.
