AN ACT
Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in registration of vehicles, providing for special
plates for honorary consuls and official representatives of
foreign governments.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
ยง 1369.3. Special plates for honorary consuls and official
representatives of foreign governments.
(a) General rule.--Upon application of any person who is an
honorary consul or official representative of a foreign
government, accompanied by a fee of $20 which shall be in
addition to the annual registration fee and by such
documentation as required under subsection (b), the department
shall issue to the person a special registration plate
designating the vehicle so licensed as belonging to a person who
is an honorary consul or official representative of a foreign
government. The special registration plate shall be of a

distinguishing color and separate numerical series. The special
registration plate may be used only on a passenger car or truck
with a registered gross weight of not more than 10,000 pounds.
(b) Documentation required.--The documentation required
under subsection (a) shall consist of a copy of the honorary
consul identification card or a copy of the exequatur issued by
the United States Department of State and any other
documentation deemed necessary by the department.
(c) Return of special registration plate.--A person who has
been issued a special registration plate under this section
shall return it to the department if it is no longer in use or
the person is no longer an honorary consul or official
representative of the foreign government indicated on the
documentation submitted to the department.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
