A RESOLUTION
Designating the month of September 2016 as "Children's
Cardiomyopathy Awareness Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, The Children's Cardiomyopathy Foundation is a
national, nonprofit organization focused on pediatric
cardiomyopathy, a chronic disease of the heart muscle; and
WHEREAS, The Children's Cardiomyopathy Foundation is
dedicated to accelerating the search for cures while improving
diagnosis, treatment and quality of life for children affected
by cardiomyopathy; and
WHEREAS, The Children's Cardiomyopathy Foundation actively
works with Federal agencies, medical societies, volunteer health
organizations and hospitals nationwide to increase awareness,
accelerate research and advance education on pediatric
cardiomyopathy; and

WHEREAS, The mission of "Children's Cardiomyopathy Awareness
Month" is to raise awareness of pediatric cardiomyopathy, the
number one cause of sudden cardiac arrest and the need for heart
transplants in children; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
month of September 2016 as "Children's Cardiomyopathy Awareness
Month" in Pennsylvania.
