A RESOLUTION
Honoring the more than 171,000 veterans who served in World War
II, continuing to serve during the Korean Conflict and the
Vietnam Conflict.
WHEREAS, World War II veterans served during the period of
December 7, 1941, when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, to
December 31, 1946; and
WHEREAS, The Korean Conflict took place from June 27, 1950,
with President Truman ordering troops to aid South Koreans
during the invasion by North Korea, to January 31, 1955; and
WHEREAS, The Vietnam Conflict spanned from November 1, 1955,
to May 15, 1975, following the Fall of Saigon to the North
Vietnamese; and
WHEREAS, Currently, 38,140 veterans of all three of these
conflicts are still alive; and
