A RESOLUTION
Commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Borough of
Stroudsburg.
WHEREAS, The Borough of Stroudsburg was established and
incorporated on February 6, 1815; and
WHEREAS, Stroudsburg is the county seat of Monroe County and
is lauded as a gateway for travelers on the Interstate 80
corridor; and
WHEREAS, Stroudsburg celebrates its historic significance to
this Commonwealth and is on the National Register of Historic
Places; and
WHEREAS, Throughout its history, Stroudsburg has been blessed
with dedicated civic leaders who have helped the borough to grow
and flourish, as well as diligent and productive residents who
have helped the borough become an inspiring presence in this

Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Stroudsburg is celebrating the momentous occasion of
its 200th anniversary; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives commemorate the
200th anniversary of the Borough of Stroudsburg and heartily
congratulate the borough as it celebrates its bicentennial; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives offer best wishes
to the Borough of Stroudsburg for growth and prosperity in the
coming years; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
the Borough of Stroudsburg, 700 Sarah Street, Stroudsburg, PA
18360.
