INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,

A RESOLUTION
Commending Daniel A. Dailey, the 15th Sergeant Major of the
Army, for his notable military career and further recognizing
his current rank and service.
WHEREAS, A Palmerton native and 1990 graduate of Palmerton
Area High School, Sergeant Major of the Army (SMA) Dailey
enlisted in the Army in 1989; and
WHEREAS, Having earned the rank of command sergeant major in
2004, SMA Dailey demonstrated exceptional discipline and
professionalism as an infantryman, instructor and leader during
five combat deployments; and
WHEREAS, SMA Dailey completed multiple tours in Europe and
Asia and participated in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm,
Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn; and
WHEREAS, SMA Dailey's military honors and awards include the
Iraq Campaign Medal with five bronze service stars, the Korea
Defense Service Medal, the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), the

Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), the Army Service Ribbon
and numerous other military honors and awards; and
WHEREAS, SMA Dailey provided distinguished leadership,
counsel and outreach as command senior major for the United
States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) at Fort
Eustis, Virginia; and
WHEREAS, At TRADOC, SMA Dailey was committed to his duties on
behalf of senior military leaders and his responsibilities to
strengthen the standards and training of Army personnel
consistent with the unique challenges and rigors of military
life and combat service; and
WHEREAS, SMA Dailey furthered Army plans for leadership
development and shaped key elements of the soldier 2020
initiative while at Fort Eustis; and
WHEREAS, SMA Dailey was installed as Sergeant Major of the
Army at the Pentagon following the January 30, 2015, retirement
of Sergeant Major of the Army Raymond F. Chandler III; and
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania extends its best wishes for SMA Dailey's tenure as
the most senior enlisted member of the Army and offers its
respect for his authority on matters affecting the enlisted
force; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania commend Daniel A. Dailey, the 15th
Sergeant Major of the Army, for his notable military career and
further recognize his current rank and service; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
SMA Daniel A. Dailey at the Pentagon, Washington, DC 20310.
