A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Northwest Raiders Football Team from the City of
Philadelphia on capturing the 2014 Pop Warner National Super
Bowl Championship for the Midget Division.
WHEREAS, The Northwest Raiders won the Pop Warner Super Bowl
Championship in a 26-6 victory over Connecticut's New Britain
Raiders on December 13, 2014, in a nationally televised game
hosted at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida; and
WHEREAS, The national title is the pinnacle of an excellent
season for the team composed of students from Imhotep Charter
and Martin Luther King High School, in the City of Philadelphia,
and a dedicated coaching staff; and
WHEREAS, The team's dominant performance in the championship
came only four days after overcoming the Palmetto Raiders' home-
field advantage in a hard-fought double-overtime victory; and
WHEREAS, With its Pop Warner Super Bowl victory, the

Northwest Raiders earned their first national title since their
program began in 1971; and
WHEREAS, Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc., founded in 1929,
is a nonprofit organization that provides youth football and
cheer and dance programs in 42 states across the country and is
the only youth football organization that requires participants
to maintain academic standards in order to participate;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the
Northwest Raiders Football Team from the City of Philadelphia on
capturing the 2014 Pop Warner National Super Bowl Championship
for the Midget Division and for serving as athletic and academic
role models in their community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
the Northwest Raiders Athletic Association on 1100 East Chelten
Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19138.
