AN ACT
Amending the act of March 2, 1956 (1955 P.L.1211, No.376),
entitled "An act providing for and regulating the licensing
and practice of practical nursing; imposing duties on the
State Board of Nurse Examiners; and imposing penalties,"
further providing for refusal, suspension or revocation of
license and grounds.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 16 of the act of March 2, 1956 (1955
P.L.1211, No.376), known as the Practical Nurse Law, is amended
by adding a subsection to read:
Section 16. Refusal, Suspension or Revocation of License;
Grounds.--* * *
(c) Notwithstanding any other provision of this act, if the
licensee is convicted of an offense under section 13(a)(12) of
the act of April 14, 1972 (P.L.233, No.64), known as "The
Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act," or a
substantially similar offense in another state, the board shall
permanently revoke the license of the licensee.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
