A RESOLUTION

 

1Recognizing the month of October 2014 as "National Principals
2Month" in Pennsylvania and honoring the contribution of
3principals in the elementary schools, middle schools and high
4schools of our nation.

5WHEREAS, The National Association of Secondary School
6Principals and the National Association of Elementary School
7Principals have declared the month of October 2014 as National
8Principals Month; and

9WHEREAS, Principals are educational visionaries,
10instructional and assessment leaders, disciplinarians, community
11builders, budget analysts, facilities managers and
12administrators of legal and contractual obligations; and

13WHEREAS, Principals work collaboratively with teachers and
14parents to develop and implement a clear mission, high
15curriculum standards and performance goals; and

16WHEREAS, Principals create school environments that
17facilitate great teaching and learning and continuous school

1improvement; and

2WHEREAS, The vision, actions and dedication of principals
3provide the mobilizing force behind any school reform effort;
4and

5WHEREAS, As of the 2013-2014 school year, there were 5,000
6principals in Pennsylvania; and

7WHEREAS, The celebration of National Principals Month will
8honor elementary school, middle school and high school
9principals and recognize the importance of principals in
10ensuring that every child has access to a high-quality
11education; therefore be it

12RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize the month of October 2014
13as "National Principals Month" and honor the contribution of
14principals in the elementary schools, middle schools and high
15schools of our nation by supporting the goals and ideals of
16"National Principals Month."
