1Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, providing for sentence of
3community service.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:

8§ 9730.2. Sentence of community service.

9A person sentenced to a term of supervised community service
10or required by a court or a paroling authority to participate in
11a public or nonprofit community service program may not purchase
12credit in lieu of performing the community service in any form,
13including:

14(1) United States or foreign currency.

15(2) A money order.

16(3) A check.

17(4) A prepaid debit or credit card.

18(5) A gift card or certificate.

1(6) Any other means of remuneration.

2Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
