1Amending the act of July 11, 1996 (2nd Sp.Sess., P.L.1879,
2No.10), entitled "An act directing the Insurance Commissioner
3to establish and administer a flood insurance education and
4information program," further providing for flood insurance 
5education and information.

6The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7hereby enacts as follows:

8Section 1. Section <-3 3(b) of the act of July 11, 1996 (2nd
9Sp.Sess., P.L.1879, No.10), known as the Flood Insurance
10Education and Information Act, is amended to read:

11Section 3. Flood insurance education and information.

<-12(a) Program established.--The Insurance Commissioner shall
13authorize and establish a flood insurance consumer education
14plan to encourage residents of this Commonwealth to purchase and
15maintain flood insurance focusing on properties which have
16suffered previous flood damage. The plan shall be implemented
17annually throughout this Commonwealth and shall include such
18information as the Insurance Commissioner deems appropriate. The
19report shall include the number of Commonwealth residents who

1have purchased flood insurance during the preceding year and
2comparisons to prior years.

4[(b) Annual reports.--No later than March 1 of each year,
5the Insurance Commissioner shall present a report to the General
6Assembly detailing the plan and its implementation and progress
7and recommendations for further promotion of the sale of flood
8insurance. The report shall include the number of Commonwealth
9residents who have purchased flood insurance during the
10preceding year and comparisons to prior years.]

11Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
