AN ACT

 

1Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, further providing for resident license and fee
3exemptions.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Section 2706(b) of Title 34 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

8§ 2706. Resident license and fee exemptions.

10(b) Disabled veterans.--

11(1) Any resident disabled veteran of any war or armed
12conflict whose physical disability consists of the loss of
13one or more limbs, or the loss of the use of one or more
14limbs, or whose physical disability is considered total<-, 
15including a veteran who under Federal regulations is assigned 
16a disability rating of less than total but who is deemed 100% 
17disabled due to unemployability, and who meets all other

1qualifications of this title and is otherwise mentally and
2physically fit, shall be issued a regular hunting or
3furtaking license upon application to any county treasurer,
4without the payment of the license cost, if that person is
5domiciled in this Commonwealth.

<-6(1.1) Any veteran who is eligible for disability
7compensation as determined by the United States Department of
8Veterans Affairs and who meets all other qualifications of
9this act and is otherwise mentally and physically fit, shall
10be issued a resident hunting license at the cost of $1 upon
11application to any county treasurer.

12(2) The application for the issuance of this license
13shall, in addition to the other information required by the
14director, contain a statement that the applicant is a war or
15armed conflict veteran and that his physical disability was
16service incurred.

17(3) The applicant shall produce the applicant's
18discharge papers and a Department of Veterans Affairs
19disability certification to the effect that the applicant
20suffers total physical disability <-or is eligible for 
21disability compensation as determined by the United States 
22Department of Veterans Affairs.

23(4) If a disabled veteran who qualifies for issuance of
24a license under [this subsection<-] paragraph (1) presents
25documentation to show that the qualifying disability is
26permanent, the county treasurer shall issue the disabled
27veteran a lifetime hunting or furtaking license.

28(5) In a county where there is no county treasurer by
29virtue of a home rule charter or optional plan of government,
30the county official who performs the functions of a county

1treasurer and who has been designated an issuing agent by the
2commission shall issue licenses under this subsection.
