1Designating the week of October 19 through 25, 2014, as
2"Respiratory Care Week" in Pennsylvania and commending
3respiratory therapists for their outstanding contributions to
4health care.

5WHEREAS, National Respiratory Care Week will be observed
6October 19 through 25, 2014; and

7WHEREAS, This observance celebrates the contribution that
8respiratory therapists make to our nation's health care system;
9and

10WHEREAS, Respiratory therapists are the only allied health
11practitioners specifically trained to assist physicians in the
12care of respiratory patients; and

13WHEREAS, Across Pennsylvania, respiratory therapists assist
14with diagnostic procedures, administer oxygen and breathing
15treatments, conduct pulmonary therapy, teach home care to
16patients and family members and provide acute care for patients
17on ventilators; therefore be it

18RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
19week of October 19 through 25, 2014, as "Respiratory Care Week"

1in Pennsylvania; and be it further

2RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives commend all
3respiratory therapists for their outstanding contributions to
4health care.
