1Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2act relating to the public school system, including certain
3provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5laws relating thereto," further providing for continuing
6professional education for school or system leaders.

7The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8hereby enacts as follows:

9Section 1. Section 1205.5(a)(2) of act of March 10, 1949
10(P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, added
11July 20, 2007 (P.L.278, No.45), is amended and the section is
12amended by adding a subsection to read:

13Section 1205.5. Continuing Professional Education for School
14or System Leaders.--(a) * * *

15(2) For any school or system leader who serves in both
16administrative and nonadministrative positions during a
17compliance period as defined in section 1205.2, the school or
18system leader's continuing professional education requirements
19shall be earned in programs approved in accordance with this
20section in no less than the same proportion as the proportion of

1the compliance period during which the school or system leader
2served on an administrative certificate or letter of
3eligibility, subject to subsection (e.1).

5(e.1) School or system leaders shall be granted credit under
6section 1205.2 and this section for any training the Department
7of Eduction requires school or system leaders to complete. For
8purposes of this subsection, the Department of Education shall
9determine the credit or hour value of each required training.

11Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
