3The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4hereby enacts as follows:

5Section 1. Section 1732 of Title 61 of the Pennsylvania
6Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

7§ 1732. Board meetings.

8(a) Quorum.--A majority of the members of the board shall
9constitute a quorum for the transaction of business, and all
10actions of the board shall be by the approval of a majority of
11all the members of the board.

12(b) Frequency and nature of meetings.--

13(1) [The] In a county of the eighth class, the board 
14shall meet no less frequently than semi-annually, or more if 
15required. In all other counties, the board shall meet
16monthly, or more often [if required, and]. The board shall
17keep regular minutes of their proceedings in a book to be
18filed with the financial records of the county. The board

1shall make such rules and regulations for the government and
2management of the county correctional institution and the
3safekeeping, discipline and employment of the inmates, as may
4be deemed necessary.

5(2) [The] For all counties other than counties of the 
6eighth class, the meetings shall be held at the county
7correctional institution no less often than quarterly.

8Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
