AN ACT
1Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, further providing for grading of
3offense relating to police animals.
4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:
6Section 1. Section 5511.2(b) of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8§ 5511.2. Police animals.

10(b) Illegal to torture police animals.--It shall be unlawful
11for any person to willfully or maliciously torture, mutilate,
12injure, disable, poison or kill a police animal. Any person who
13violates any of the provisions of this subsection commits a
14felony of the [third] second degree.

16Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
