1Amending Title 65 (Public Officers) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, in ethics standards and financial
3disclosure, further providing for definitions.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. The definition of "public official" in section
71102 of Title 65 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is
8amended to read:

9§ 1102. Definitions.

10The following words and phrases when used in this chapter
11shall have, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the
12meanings given to them in this section:

14"Public official." Any person elected by the public or
15elected or appointed by a governmental body or an appointed
16official in the executive, legislative or judicial branch of
17this Commonwealth or any political subdivision thereof, provided
18that it shall not include members of advisory boards that have
19no authority to expend public funds other than reimbursement for

1personal expense or to otherwise exercise the power of the State
2or any political subdivision thereof. The term shall include 
3full-time or part-time solicitor for a political subdivision.
