1Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2act relating to the public school system, including certain
3provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5laws relating thereto," in preliminary provisions,
6prohibiting imposition of common core standards.
12Section 123. Prohibiting Imposition of Common Core
13Standards.--(a) The Commonwealth is prohibited from
14implementing any Statewide educational standard and related
15initiative, including, but not limited to, uniform testing and
16expanded student data-mining, for students attending private,
17religious or home school educational settings in prekindergarten
18through grade twelve, which standard is based on the Common Core
1(b) For purposes of this section, the term "Common Core
2Standards Initiative" means a joint effort commenced by the
3leaders of various states through their membership in the
4National Governors Association Center for Best Practices and the
5Council of Chief State School Officers.
6Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
