1Amending Title 24 (Education) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, providing for rights and duties of school employees
3and members.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Section 8507(h) of Title 24 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

8§ 8507. Rights and duties of school employees and members.

10(h) Vestees attaining superannuation age.--Upon attainment
11of superannuation age a vestee shall execute and file within 90
12days an application for an annuity. Any application filed after
13such 90 day period shall be effective as of the date it is filed
14with the board, subject to the provisions of section 8505(g)
15(relating to duties of board regarding applications and
16elections of members). [If a vestee does not file an application
17within seven years after attaining superannuation age, he shall
18be deemed to have elected to receive his accumulated deductions

1upon attainment of superannuation age.]
