1Amending Title 30 (Fish) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, in fishing licenses, further providing for
3exemptions from license requirements.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Section 2709(b) of Title 30 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

8§ 2709. Exemptions from license requirements.

10(b) Persons who are blind or have certain physical or mental
11impairments.--The provisions of this chapter do not apply to
12those persons who are totally blind, are paraplegic or similarly 
13disabled in the lower extremities or have such severe physical
14or mental impairments that they are unable to cast or retrieve a
15line or bait hooks and remove fish if only one legal device is
16used and the person who is blind or has physical or mental

1impairments as described in this section is within ten feet of
2the device being used. The provisions of this chapter also do
3not apply to the attendant of the person who is blind or has
4physical or mental impairments described in this section while
5assisting in using the device.
