1Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, in support matters, further providing
3for cooperation of government and nongovernment agencies.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Section 4304.1(a)(2) of Title 23 of the
7Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

8§ 4304.1. Cooperation of government and nongovernment agencies.

9(a) Cooperation of government agencies.--Notwithstanding any 
10other provision of law, including the provisions of section 731 
11of the act of April 9, 1929 (P.L.343, No.176), known as The 
12Fiscal Code, all government agencies shall:

14(2) Require the Social Security number of an individual
15who has one on any application for a professional or
16occupational license or certification; a permit; a driver's

1license, including a commercial driver's license; [a
2recreational license;] or a marriage license. Collection of
3the Social Security number shall be performed in such manner
4as to protect its confidentiality. If the government agency
5uses another identifying number on the face of the
6application, the government agency shall advise the applicant
7and shall keep the Social Security number on file at the
8agency.
