| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An |
2 | act relating to the public school system, including certain |
3 | provisions applicable as well to private and parochial |
4 | schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the |
5 | laws relating thereto," in reimbursements by Commonwealth and |
6 | between school districts, further providing for extraordinary |
7 | special education program expenses. |
8 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
9 | hereby enacts as follows: |
10 | Section 1. Section 2509.8 of the act of March 10, 1949 |
11 | (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, is |
12 | amended by adding a subsection to read: |
13 | Section 2509.8. Extraordinary Special Education Program |
14 | Expenses.--* * * |
15 | (f) For the 2012-2013 school year and each school year |
16 | thereafter, funds from the set-aside contained in subsection (e) |
17 | shall be allocated to each approved private school with a day |
18 | tuition rate determined to be less than thirty-two thousand |
19 | dollars ($32,000) during the 2010-2011 school year. For each |
20 | such approved school the allocation shall be determined by |
21 | subtracting the approved private school's 2010-2011 school year |

1 | day tuition rate from thirty-eight thousand three hundred five |
2 | dollars ($38,305) and multiplying the result by the number of |
3 | approved students enrolled in the approved private school during |
4 | the 2010-2011 school year. |
5 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2012, or |
6 | immediately, whichever is later. |
