INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35, SEPTEMBER 5, 2012  

A RESOLUTION

Honoring the Greater Philadelphia Chorale on its tenth

anniversary.

WHEREAS, The Greater Philadelphia Chorale is a premier

community choir that performs in the Philadelphia five-county

area; and

WHEREAS, Founded by David Hall in 2002, the Greater

Philadelphia Chorale is an adult auditioned, volunteer chorus

that has presented a wide variety of programs in past seasons,

including, but not limited to, classical and contemporary music,

Broadway musicals, jazz, seasonal selections and folk music; and

WHEREAS, Comprised of individuals with an interest in choral

singing, the Greater Philadelphia Chorale brings together a

culturally diverse group of vocalists with a love for music; and

WHEREAS, The Greater Philadelphia Chorale is strongly

committed to its members, and its mission is to foster a

nondiscriminatory and cooperative environment of respect and to

demonstrate care for each individual; and

WHEREAS, The Chorale focuses on valuing and affirming each

member's unique contribution to the group and developing a

personal vision of each individual's participation in the

Chorale; and

WHEREAS, This season, the Greater Philadelphia Chorale

celebrates its tenth anniversary; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives congratulate the

directors, members and staff of the Greater Philadelphia Chorale

on their collective achievement and display of quality music in

the community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to

the Greater Philadelphia Chorale, P.O. Box 103, Southampton, PA

18906.
